My calendar and widgets look strange. Can you help?

/Users/Shasta/Desktop/Picture 1.png

Everything looks russian-cyrillic like. Even my calendar date looks like this until I click on it. It then goes back to english and normal numbers.

Any help would be appreciated. I tried system preferences/international etc with no result.

cant see a picture but sounds like a font cache issue

Try downloading Onyx, one of its many maintenance features is flushing the font cache which could account for odd font display
