I have a MacBook Pro 2.5 A1260 early 2008. It will not boot unless I take out the battery.
After it's up and I put the battery back in it doesn't show in the profiler. If I shut it down I can't restart with the battery installed. Anyone have an idea here?:Not-Amused:

Either a bad battery or a defective DC input board (charging circuit) could cause the symptoms you described.

The battery shows four lights and was charging on Friday, there's power to the F/W ports with the Mag Safe connected, One other thing is the sleep function seems to be going haywire too. Maybe a logic board? Also the only way I could boot it today was to connect a F/W drive however it booted to the internal drive, I tried to zap PRAM but it just passed that up and booted.

It could very well be the logic board. Try resetting the SMC to see if that helps. LINK

I did this very early on, I was hoping for a firmware fix of some kind. These logic boards are a little pricey
