Hello,

How do I remove top fan by the hard drive that sits in a dipped down area?

I already purchased a replacement fan.

It would help tremendously if you told us which Mac you have... year and model? Also what version of OS X it's running. Otherwise we have no idea how to direct your question.

OK, thanks for posting that information. Go to the ifixit web site and look up your G5 model. You'll find the step by step instructions including diagrams on how to do repairs on your G5. They also sell any special tools that may be required.
