3gs and ios 6

So I own a 3gs 8gb and currently have just under 1gb free space on it. I understand that ios 6 uses around 2.5gb of space and so if I was to upgrade i will need to get rid of a few apps which i don't use.
So the question is, is it worth the upgrade or should I just stick ios5 at the moment. I am finding the phone to be running fairly slow in comparison to before its last software update. Will it be quicker, or will it just slow the phone down even more?

iOS 6 works pretty nice on my 3GS

iOS 6 works pretty nice on my 3GS also. And on my son's 3GS. My daughter's 4 has also not had a hitch. I've had no problems with it. Some things do indeed seem to work snappier. I'd vote to go with the upgrade.
