I've had this problem for a while.

I'm running Mountain Lion. I use the multiple desktops when working. I like to have my iTunes or something open in one, safari in another and pfd's in another. Problem being the pdf's with preview move in to all the desktops. When I switch the pfd's move with me. Is there anyway I can lock my preview windows to a single desktop?

Any help or alternatives would be appreciated.

Open something with Preview so that the Preview icon is in the Dock.

Right click on the Preview icon. You will see (amongst other options) "Assign To" and you can choose "All Desktops"; This Desktop"; "None".

By choosing "This Desktop" it will always keep anything you open with Preview on that Desktop alone and will not "follow you" as you move around your other Desktops.

Remember this will apply to anything you open with Preview, not just PDFs.
