Today noticed and interesting bug on iMovie.
Got a bit frustrated before I realizied what's the problem.
Imported few videos in the event and made a project out of them. The issue was that while all the video sequences (from each file) had their own video stream, the thumbnails and audio was from the first sequence.
Playing the videos from finder didn't evoke any problems. Each video played its own audio. But in the same files imported in iMovie and exported further on had totally messed up audio stream.
Took a while to figure that the names of the files were like:
vhs3.0.mov
vhs3.1.mov
vhs3.2.mov
and it appears, that iMovie got confused by the dot in the middle:
while the video stream was imported fine,
the audio was cloned from the FIRST vhs3.XXXXXX
App imported files normally when I deleted the dots in the filenames.
Seems strange that such a sophisticated program as iMovie does such a superficial file analyze in some cases.
