Hey everyone,

I'm running Snow Leopard on a new iMac. Tried to buy Mountain Lion today and install it to no avail. I now get this grey box next to where "install" should be, and if I go back to the Mountain Lion purchase page it asks me to purchase the download again - having paid for it once already. Any ideas?

Snow Leopard hasn't run on any "new" iMac for 2 years.

My guess is there was an error processing the purchase - you should check your mail since Apple typically sends you a receipt and/or contact Apple.

Sorry I meant the new iMac design - it's actually a 2010/11 model - Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac11,2

I have been charged for the purchase and I have the email from Apple, yet the little box is still grey and will not allow me to download the OS

You do need to be running OS X.6.6 or later to be able to get into the App Store and download the operating system.

harryb -- he is ... rather obviously ... running 10.6.6 or higher as we can see from the screenshot.

Call or email Apple about it. Have to think that is on their side and not yours.
