Linking Macbook to TV

Hi.


I've successfully linked my Macbook Pro to my tv. The problem i do have is that if i have say Safari open on my macbook in the middle of the screen then nothing appears on the tv. It does however appear if i move the window right off the macbook screen.

Is this normal? If it isn't how do i change it?
