Just purchased a macbook white 2007 off a friend, only problem is it comes with tiger and only has 80GB hard drive. Both of these i wish to upgrade. I already have snow leopard disc which is what i want to upgrade to. I see no point installing snow leopard then changing the hard drive, so my question is if i were to put in a new hard drive, when i boot the macbook up could i do this with the snow leopard disc or will i have to install tiger on the new hard drive then install snow leopard.

You can definitely change the drive and then boot up from the Snow Leopard disc and do a fresh install. Make sure the SL disc is a retail version and not the gray machine-specific one..
