Hello -- My macbook - (10.6.8) is having multiple frequent kernel panic attacks. About a month ago, I uninstalled Chrome and that seemed to fix the problem temporarily, but now it is happening again, simply when surfing the internet, using gmail and twitter - nothing fancy.

It is a donated macbook for a small nonprofit, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've reset PRAM and SMC, and yesterday was not even able to boot up in safe mode without a panic attack halfway through boot up. After about 12 hours rest, I am up and running in safe mode, with no attacks thus far.

The following is the last report:

Interval Since Last Panic Report: 5851 sec

Frequent KPs are often the result of failing or failed hardware (like a bad HDD). The first thing you'll need to do is verify that the hardware is solid before you start to troubleshoot software...

A couple of useful lines from your Kernel Panic.

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2a0663): "Spinlock acquisition timed out: lock=0x355d860, lock owner thread=0xd40000, current_thread:

BSD process name corresponding to current thread: fsck_hfs

Looks a file system check was/is in process and it tried timed out while acquiring a spin lock. I won't get into the nitty gritty details of spinlocks and so on, but suffice it to say it's important that this particular functionality succeed before the file system check can proceed.

Can you tell us what you were doing when this Kernel Panic occurred?

I tried the Hardware Test, but nothing happened? Because it is a donated laptop I don't have the disk to get the test from there.

The Kernel Panic Attacks were happening when I was merely surfing the internet - gmail, twitter, etc - in Firefox. No other applications were being used. They then continued to occur when I would simply start up the computer again.

Try ringing Apple on the 800 number and see if you can purchase a copy os Snow Leopard. Was originally $29 and one of the best trouble shooters around.
