wifi keeps looking for netwoks on imac

Hi, my imac 24inch keeps hanging up on the wifi.
web page loads slowly so I hover over wifi icon and it says looking for networks even though iphone and ipods are connected and work,
this has been happening for a few weeks now. Any ideas???

Mac Mini Core i7 2012 | White 2009 MacBook 2 Ghz | 733 Mhz G4 Quicksilver
In the  menu > System Preferences > Network

SElect wifi, and select the advanced button. Make sure your network is at the top of the list
