Hi all -
I searched the threads and see lots of similar issues but none exactly like mine.
Running 10.6.8 on an iMac with iOmega 500G external HD USB plugged in.
It's Journaled HFS Plus - all one volume. I'm not using it for Time Machine.
Last week, it disappeared from the desktop and Finder doesn't see it.
(Finder preferences are set to show it.)
Disk Utility does see it and repair / verify says it's OK.
It did say "updating boot support partitions for the volume as required" after repair.
I go to mount it and it says it cannot be mounted - try repair.....
I also tried the Win7 PC - which has HFS read/write software installed.
Again, the control panel saw it, but couldn't "fix" it and Explorer didn't see it.
I've tried all the re-booting / power on/off / different USB ports etc.
I haven't tried Disk Warrior yet - hopefully I can find a solution for less than $100.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Dan
