Can 32-bit OS run on 64-bit system?

Has anyone successfully partitioned 10.5 or 10.6 OS on to a 64-bit machine made for 10.7 and up? If so, how's the reliability?

Silver M1 iMac 512/16/8/8 macOS 11.6
If the computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion doubtful Leopard or Snow Leopard will run on it. As a rule of thumbs there is no going back to an OS released prior to the manufacture of the computer.

There are no drivers for the newer systems on the older versions. Typically they will refuse to even install.

@louishen...I was considering workarounds to first move my loaded Powerbook to an Intel Mac through Rosetta (not supported after OS 10.6.8), and partitioning that onto a 64-bit system. Too iffy though, or plain impossible.
