Ok, I (almost) give up.

iCloud is meant to enable you to work on the same document on your IOS device and your Mac. Right?

I had an older version of Pages, and read it wasn't iCloud compatible. I bought the current version of Pages for my a) iMac and b) iPad just yesterday. That is, versions 4.2 (iMac) and 1.6.2 (iPad). On each device iCloud is enabled and Sync Documents/Data checked.

And yet what I write on the iMac doesn't reproduce on the iPad or vice-versa. Both devices fully up to date, have connected the iPad, synced, updated ... nothing.

Any ideas?

Could you be a little less vague about what you mean by "doesn't reproduce"?

On your Mac, are you saving the document to iCloud? If you visit your iCloud account using a web browser, is the document there? Are you pulling from the iCloud account when you try to open the document on your iPad?
