I have 10.7.5 OS X

My download icon disappeared from safari.
The customize toolbar doesn't have the download icon on it.

How do I restore my download icon?

I can't view or download attachments in my emails.

Did you update Safari? The newer Safari doesn't have the download button for the toolbar anymore.
While in Safari, press the Option+Command+L keys all at once and the Download window will pop up.
