Hi all,

I'm moving from the UK to the continent, and will be having my iMac meet me there. I'll probably Fedex it. I wanted to secure it so that a password was required upon startup, but my mac is being chuffing infuriating.

I tried to follow the advice on this link - Mac Security Tip: Disable Automatic Login - The Mac Security Blog , but System Prefs has greyed out all of my Login Options.

I held 'c' on startup with the OS X Install DVd and set a password to my account, but when I restart my machine I'm never asked for the password?

Help please!

There is a little padlock on that preference pane, unlock it with your admin password and you can set the logon options
