Help! I'm on an A1226 intel mac, running 10.6.8.

My trackpad and keyboard keep freezing and I cant do anything but manually restart. Any info at all please help.

Edit:
Sorry for the hasty post, I'm posting from my messed up computer.

Anyway, I took the battery out and it seems to be running alright without it. Could I need to reset the system management controller? Or is it something else?

The battery doesn't appear warped, and there are no broken seams... But I see that the battery may swell at the end of its life.

I just don't know what's going on.

It could be as simple as resting your p-ram by holding down option control p and r or boot your computer in safe mode and delete all of your downloaded. I hope this can help somewhat.

^ Did the option/control/p/r and it didn't help.

Bump.

Monday: 1 freeze, then a kernel panic crash, 3 more freezes.

Then: 4 days running my mac without the battery, and no crashes.

I just ran memtest and my RAM seems to be fine. I put the battery in, and it froze up.

It has to be the battery right? Does anyone know what's up?
