Upgrading 10.4

Good evening...i would like to upgrade from 10.4.1.1 on my macbook. I know i should buy a new one...but for now, how can i upgrade and what should I upgrade to??

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Your MB will run all operating systems up to and including Lion and maybe Mountain Lion, depending on the specs which you have not provided. You need to purchase Snow Leopard OS X.6 for starters. Buy a retail DVD install, and not a silver grey model specific disc. When Snow Leopard is a goer you can consider Lion or Mountain Lion which is available from the App Store after you upgrade to OS X.6.8.

For safe installing, make sure you back up your current system to an external HDD>

You MAY be able to get Snow Leopard directly from Apple by calling them. It's not available online from Apple.
