i need a good screen recorder for my iMac and i dont want to pay so i need a free screen recorder for mac.

If you're talking about capturing the whole screen, QuickTime X can do this and it's built right in.

If you're talking about capturing a video of yourself (on the iSight camera), you can use Photo Booth for that (be sure to turn off any "effects").

I believe the previous version of Quick Time had this ability as well.
