I decided to try a set of the new Apple EarPods with my Razr Maxx (Android 4.0.4) after reading this article.

I can listen to music, and for the price they don't sound bad. But unlike Mr. Nickinson, I have not been able to get the mic to work with the phone. I can hear the person on the other end, but all they hear is high-pitched squealing. It doesn't matter which end the call originated.

Has anyone else tried these with an Android device, and if so, how has it worked out for you?

The high pitched squealing is likely feedback from the mike getting into the flow. It's hard to say whether it's the fault of the Apple ear pods or the Android. Try testing with another set of ear pods and the Android to see if the same occurs.
