OK ...
So I did something stupid by creating a separate partition for my dropbox file folder (32GB).. and tried to encrypt the drive.

And I realised it stupid!.. Now I want to reconnect that 32 GB of space with my 'primary' partition...

Good news is I just reinstalled OSX mountain Lion.. So i only have about 12 GB of stuff on the OS partition.

Please do help me :)

Then it may be best to back your primary partition up with TM, and repartition your HDD, cause repartitioning without erasing both partitions is not possible.

Non destructive re-partitioning can be done with third party software but it's not free. Take a look at "iPartition" here.

iPartition is up to some tasks, but, it can't combine 2 partitions.

It does that the same way OS X's own utility does, have to delete one partition and then you can resize the other to take in that space.

Am not aware of any software that can combine partitions for OS X.

Anytime you're playing with partitions, make sure you have a backup first.

partition, restore, backup

I've found my solution.

Here is a walkthru.>> Resize Partitions in Mac OS X with Disk Utility

Just select the 32GB partition in Disk Util then click the minus to remove it. Then grab the bottom right of the remaining partition and pull it to the bottom to make one large partition out of it, and click apply.

This will not cause you to lose data on the OS partition.

Sorry, think we all thought you also had data on the 32GB partition you wanted to keep without moving it. That's what I mentioned above without telling you how to do it.

It does that the same way OS X's own utility does, have to delete one partition and then you can resize the other to take in that space.

Delete Account

Now I just need to figure out how to get Apple to permanently delete my stuff and close my old iCloud/iTunes account..
