Deleting suggested Updates

Hi. In the App Store I have an iPhoto update that doesn't apply to my operating system. How do I get rid of that item in the upgrade menu so it doesn't always notify me I have an update? Thanks in advance.

That didn't work since it refers to purchases. This is just an iPhoto update that is being pushed through but not compatible with my operating system. I just want to remove it from the menu list.

So did you purchase iPhoto or did it come preinstalled on your Mac?

Even if it came preinstalled, it should be registered as a purchase.

Hmm. It only removed the "install" listing, not the update. No mention in the above mentioned post about updates. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to ignore the little red flag on the app store for now.

Not for the first time, I'm confused and possibly deluded; but if you purchased iPhoto in the sense that it came pre-installed, how can a suggested update not be compatible with your OS (presumably also pre-installed)?

That's easy: the OS is very very old. (that is, more than a year)

Im not sure if what im going to suggest is what you mean, but ill go ahead.
On the update if you right click, (on my MacBook Pro its press down the trackpad with 2 fingers) a little drop down appears that says 'Hide Update'
