Before I bought my new Mac I sent an email to myself with some pictures I wanted to save, my question is how do I get the email from my old Mac to my new one. I use the same email address.

Your Mac's Specs
2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
On your old Mac in Mail, click on the Mailbox menu and select "export mailbox" and then move the file to your new Mac. On the new Mac in Mail click on the File menu and select "import mailbox".

Also...

If the email with the pictures was not removed from your ISP server, you may be able to access the server from the web and re-download it to your new Mac's Mail.
