file manager other than finder?

I've tried most of them, and they (in my opinion) are not as good as Finder. I don't like the .DS_Store files either, but I live with them due to the fact there isn't really a dependable Finder replacement as of yet.
Apple is going to release a new version of Finder with Leopard, it's supposed (according to AppleRumors) to support audio playing (w/o Quicktime or iTunes) and picture viewing. Hopefully they will have an option to turn on/off the creation of .DS and .localized files.
You should give those suggestions a try, you might like one of them.
