Cursor jump

I just updated my software (OSx Mountain Lion) last week Sept 2012 and now my cursor jumps back a space when typing and when typing online it will type several characters and then just disappear and not allow me to type anymore til I click in the box OR it will scroll down the web page. It started happening immediately after the last update.

- No my sleeve is not touching the track pad
- No I don’t use an external mouse or keyboard
- Yes I have rebooted (several times)

Cursor jumping fix.

Mine started jumping to a new field when I typed ' (quotation mark as in I'd and I'll). I finally noticed the green dots under the ' I typed, I right clicked it and played around with different settings and I finally highlighted substitutions and unchecked smart quotes. Problem fixed.

Good tip, but the OP has only posted this one time, and that was almost a year ago. Hopefully the tip will help someone else.
