I have 2 items on my sidebar (alias's to network shares) which are no longer available over the network.

I want to remove them but when I click on them (so that I can drag em off the sidebar) I get the error "The Volumes for "share name" cannot be found". Thats fine but it stops me from getting rid of them.

Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Go to Finder Preferences by hitting "Command+," while Finder is selected. (or just clicking Finder>Preferences).

Click the tab "Sidebar", uncheck "Network".

That should do it. :mac:

didnt work, they were aliases rather then the network drive itself. I managed to find the plist file for the sidebar, I made a backup of it then deleted it, did a restart and it return the sidebar to default. sorted. thanks for taking the time to reply.
