iPhone - iTunes - Mac Problem

Hi!
I just upgraded my iPhone 4S the other day to the ios 6. When I went to sync it to my iTunes tonight to get my music, it told me that it needed iTunes 10.7. I said, fine, and went to download that. However iTunes 10.7 told me it needed Mac OS 10.6 or higher. Again, I said, alright, and went to download a software update... there are no software updates. I have no idea what to do. Help please? Thank you in advance!

You can download 10.8 from Mac App Store, but can get Apple to sell you 10.7 if you call them on a USB drive. You need to have a compatible Mac for that first.

So tell us what Mac you have and we'll start from there..

I have a Macbook Pro.. it's about 3 years old

If possible I would like to not have to pay for this... I haven't had to pay for any software for my Mac so why would they start now? I'd rather un-update my phone

Mountain Lion costs $29.99 and Lion costs $69.99 on USB. If that's too rich for you, then you can Google instructions on going back to an older version of iOS..

If your Mac is only 3 yrs old then you should have OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 already - you need to update it to 10.6.8, which would be free, to install iTunes 10.7
