Dumbass, I know- how do I install 10.8.2, currently using 10.7.4? Multi-stage process, I assume, or can it be done in one hit?

- Purchase & download OS 10.8.2 from the Mac App Store.
- Double click on the downloaded OS 10.8.2 installer.
- Follow the onscreen directions.

Easy!:)

Thanks Nick

About to download, noticed "Requirements- OS X 10.6. " As I said, dumbass!
Had a look at comments, shocked to see 7 five-star but 5 one-star. Seems it
is a half-baked release? Will wait for further fixes I think.

Sole reason to upgrade is that I can't make a boot disc as I missed that on Lion install. Presumably will be able to with 10.8.2 ?

If your computer already has OS 10.7.4 installed on it (as was mentioned in this 1st post)…then you shouldn't be getting the OS 10.6 requirement message.

"Something" doesn't "compute"!

Go to your purchased items area of the Mac App Store…and redownload Lion. Then make your boot disc or boot USB of Lion.

re 10.6. I didn't make it clear- this is noted on the Apple download page which is why I should have seen it.
Never mind. Until yesterday I couldn't download Lion but my ISP has upgraded its service so now- hopefully! Thanks again

BTW- after Lion reinstall, the MBA runs infinitely better; whether due to a later build, or just the complete reset?
