Everybody knows about the problem with bluetooth on Mac Pro and Magic Mouse lagging. Most practical solution is USB bluetooth dongle and problem solved.

So I did that, bought USB dongle (Intex IT-BT06M) and Magic Mouse and ALU wireless keyboard are working great, except one thing, EFI boot menu. Keyboard is active when you get to login screen, and that is obviously too late ;D

Does anybody have experience with this combo ?

What model Mac Pro is this on?

With a Mac Pro 2.1 found best solution was to use Mighty Mouse. The Magic Mouse has a metal base, and with this and metal case of the Mac Pro too much interference. With the earlier models was a requirement to have a wired kb and mouse to install OS and boot froms discs.

Mac Pro 5.1, 8-core.
It seems that you can enter EFI bootmenu only with bluetooth keyboard paired to the original, internal BT card, or of course any USB wired keybord.

Yes using a dongle interferes with that. Consider trying out a Mighty Mouse if you can borrow one.
