Hi everyone,

I am running both iphoto and aperture on a imac. First question, should I get rid of iphoto or are they complementory?

Using Finder, I have 2 photo libraries: iphoto library with 137Gb (yes....we love photos at home ;-) and "global photo library with 43 Gb.

Second question: why do I have 2 photo libraries? do I need to have both? why is there such a size difference?

You might have guessed that I am a newbie...and you are right ....

Many many thanks for your help!

With the latest updates both Aperture and iPhoto can share the same library and each has a menu option to open an event in the other application.

I prefer iPhoto for basic browsing but use Aperture more for editing.
