I found the tutorial for my model on the Apple support site.
It looks straight forward
Is there anything important that I should know that is not mentioned on that tutorial?

I ordered the new memory pieces from Apple so it should be correct for my model .

The rep at Apple said my computer can support 4G. I have 1GB now so I ordered TWO 2GB pieces because the tutorial says I have 2 memory slots
Thank you
Barbara

I'm going to assume iMac here. If so, upgrading memory is very simple and entitals:

1) Shutdown iMac and remove power cable
2) Remove memory slot door at the bottom
3) Remove any existing memory (taking note of the orientation of the slots)
4) Insert new memory in the same orientation as the memory you removed
5) Securely press it until it "clicks" into place.
6) Turn on iMac to ensure that everything is working and go to About this Mac to ensure that the full memory is seen.
7) Shutdown down again and put the memory door back on.
8) Enjoy the new memory..

Thank you!
The tutorial has drawings of each step in the procedure.
I only asked this question because sometimes they leave out directions they assume people know.
The memory pieces were delivered today. I will not be installing it until tomorrow or Saturday.
I need to have my son carry the computer to the table. I don't have the strength I used to have and don't want to drop it. I am 71.

Thanks again

Bit late now but OWC would have supplied memory much cheaper than Apple. Pop the iMac face down on a bed spread, undo the screws and proceed. It is quite straight forward. Bit of a downer this getting old. After shoulder reconstruction earlier this year could not heave my Mac Pro about so joined iMac ranks and very happy.

I know how shoulder surgery goes I had rotator cuff surgery a year and a half ago from lifting something too heavy for my current strength and being too independent to ask for help LOL
