Have you tried clearing out history and cache?

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it's still happening at random times. I've just been logged on to my bank for example and moving from one statement page to the next, I'm suddenly thrown out with this spurious search results page. Am then unable to go back as search page keeps reloading.
