I'm thinking about making the switch to mac. My wife and kids already have iPhones so I was looking at getting an iPad and a mac mini 2.5 4GB vs a Macbook PRO. (aprox same cost) I have a good HD monitor and I don't really need a laptop. Is this the right decision?

If you already have a nice monitor, keyboard and mouse then the Mac MIni is a perfect choice. The new Mac Minis are very capable and powerful.
