My Documents folder is filled with microsoft word, excel, rich text etc type documents. Nothing of any large size. Is there any reason I should not move all of this to dropbox so I can access it anywhere? It appears to still keep a local copy on the hard drive.

If you're concerned about clutter, moving the files to your Dropbox folder does just that - it moves the problem and doesn't fix it. If you're looking to keep them in sync across platforms though, it's a great option.

Not really concerned about the clutter. My files are well organized. I was asking if there were any reasons NOT to move everything to dropbox. Seems like it would work out ok but I haven't used it extensively yet.

Everything has to be uploaded and downloaded so if bandwidth is tight and you have large files, that could be a concern. There's also the issue of privacy - does having all of your documents stored online bother you?
