• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hello guys , I have just joined the Mac forum , the posts keep coming up when I do Google searches so I thought it was about time I joined.

I would like some info on camcorders from some of you more knowledgable folks out there I have fried my brain trying to understand what to buy that is compatible with Mac for editing, it seems to be a complex mess to me from manufacturers of HD cams .

Im using a Macbook pro retina and have the CS6 suite with Premeire Pro editing software.
I am not leaning towards any particular make of camcorder , Id be happy with any of the major names, initially I was looking at the panasonic HDC HS900 but there seems to be a compatibility issue with it when writing to DVD.

What do you guys use ?

Thanks ,
Alan .
