Hey community!
I have a LaCie 5-Big 7.5TB network box which serves as my main archive for everything.
The problem I have is (a) I don't currently use a wireless router (due to problems with the wireless one I have) and am therefore using the BT Voyager 210 that came with the original broadband setup,to which I connect a Netgear 8-port ethernet switch. (b) Time Machine will not see the LaCie box because it is an ethernet connection and not a USB or Firewire 800 connection and therefore will not allow me to select that as the device to which it backs up to.
Naturally I do manual backups but I would prefer Time Machine to back up to the 5-Big. Anyone know how to get Time Machine to recognise an ethernet device and give it as an option in "Select Disk"?
