It's interesting how the iPod nano is sea-sawing between being tall to small to tall again. I think I still prefer my 6th gen because it's just the right size..

My wife has both the 5th and 6th generation models. She prefers the 5th gen model because of its tall size. Easier to use but a bit heavy using a clip on. It'll be interesting to see if she likes this newer model better. I only wish it came in a larger size than 16 GB. A 32 GB or even 64 GB version would be nice.

I had the old iPod classic (the HD variety) so going to the iPod Nano was awesome..and I've gotten used to be able to carry this thing in my pocket or other places without having it take up too much space..

The 16GB is certainly not enough to carry all of my music, but I find that it does force me to cycle through the music and rediscover music I haven't heard in a while..

I like the taller design. That small one is cute but just too small sometimes. I lost it once right here in the house! :D

Too many...
I also like the new design. I wasn't even expecting the Nano to be redesigned back into the taller shape, which I like a lot more. I did think it was cool that the old nano could be worn as a watch, but it's weird when you wanted to listen to music, while it's worn as a watch. I just think that the screen size could have been better utilized had they put iOS on it, or a iOS based setup. Those main screen button icons just look kind of weird to me. I think this might go well with my car:)

I like how clean it is, and that screen. The on-screen buttons seem out of place though…although at least it doesn't look like iOS this time around but I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't hurt?

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking the distinctiveness of the new UI design is very much deliberate.

Even the most tech-savvy individuals could've been forgiven for thinking that the 6th gen iPod nano was running some graphically-miniaturised version of iOS, due to its utilising a stripped-down version of the iOS UI. This likely lead to many a not-so-savvy customer angrily complaining that they couldn't download any apps to it like they could their iPhone / iPad / etc.

This new UI, while in-keeping with the clean but stylish aesthetic of iOS, is clearly different (albeit simply by virtue of the use of round icons vs. square ones); so there is no mistaking it for an iOS device (even if the design is ironically reminiscent of a scaled-down iPod Touch or iPhone!)

Love the new design. I currently have a few iPods scattered about the house. My 30GB HD is currently plugged into my car stereo. I will probably do the same with this one. I also like the radio feature. I think I might just pre order one.
