iPad 3 now or wait?

I'm a Canadian university student and I'll be leaving on a ten-month exchange to Europe in just over two weeks.

I'm looking to purchase an iPad.

Should I purchase the iPad 3 now or wait until the iPad 4 comes out? Is it expected to come out soon?

You guys are obviously a lot more knowledgeable about this stuff, so I'd like to hear opinions.

The new iPad was released in March, there won't be another one at least until March/April of next year.

Just purchase the current iPad and don't worry about when the new one is going to be coming out..
