multiple issues with mac

my macbook retina wont go to sleep when I leave it idle, I set it to go to sleep after 1 minute in energy saver preferences but nothing happens..the screen stays on , if I try to manually make it sleep, than the computer screen turns black and freezes.. I have to manually restart after that

also an app question, I'm running gfxcardstatus app to force the discrete graphics to run on battery.. and set to dynamic when on a/c . but it always forgets the settings and I have to manually change it to discrete whenever I startup

Did the MBP go to sleep properly before you installed this gfxcardstatus application? If you don't remember, can you disable it and check?
