I ran across an interesting approach to cutting down on spying software and such. The general idea is to use the /etc/hosts file to redirect requests back to lame sites to your own computer. I thought it was pretty nifty.
A guy put together a list of stuff to put in such a file:
http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/mac/
It does not seem to be working for me after making the entries to /etc/hosts and rebooting.
Ideas?
Thanks.
