i have a 500 gb hard drive partitioned for files and time machine but when i connect

well as the subject says i have a 500 gb hard drive partitioned for files and time machine but when i connect it to my mac only the time machine one shows up so if any one could help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks:Blushing:

Can you see the second partition in Disk Utility (Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility )

and when i select the partition that doesnt appear and press mount an error appears
