I have a MacAir running OSX 10.6.8. It has a cracked screen making it very hard to use. I am trying a wireless transfer to a MacPro OSX 10.8.1. It begins well, the time remaining changes and bounces but continues in a countdown mode until it reaches 5 hours 58 minutes, then it stops. I have left the computers running for 13 hours and the time remains the same and the blue bar never progresses at this stage.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried restarting the operation? Sometimes that can cure it.
