Howdy All...

I went to launch Toast 11 this morning and was prompted to install a new version. Which I did. Immediately after download I was walked through the installation, which ends with a dimmed Finish button (pic attached)... so I can't complete the install!

I have tried quitting and re-launching Toast.. but this just sends me through the installation process again ending with the dimmed Finish button. I have also checked my registration details and they are accurate. For good measure I even tried re-entering my product key.. still no luck.

To top it all off, when I went to the roxio site and clicked the link for email support I get a page that says "under construction". So needless to say I am frustrated. I did have a project for this morning.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Not sure, but it looks like the update was already installed or perhaps you need to shutdown Toast before it will finish the update?

Also what happens when you UnCheck Mount-it/Toast-it?

I have even rebooted my machine... every time I launch toast it takes me through this installation process, which inevitably ends with the dimmed Finish button. I have also tried unchecking the Mount/Toast options... no change.

I see in your screen shot it's saying something about an Admin Password. Did it ever ask for your password at one point?

I find that curious too. The first time I went through the installation it did ask me for my password, as is common in these scenarios. I entered it and the process continued forward no problem. It has not asked me for my password in my subsequent launches of the program.

It's almost as if the update installed but there is a problem with the registration or the authentication. Only thing I don't understand about that is the registration/authentication should either succeed or fail, or at least tell you what the issue is. This is just goofy and frustrating.

My gatekeeper is set to allow applications from anywhere so that shouldn't factor into this...

What I would try if it were me is Zap toast completely off the machine and try installing again. If you do, keep us posted. I have never seen the issue you are having. I wonder if there is a bug with the brand new Toast updater? Going to Roxio now to check the forums.

Thank you very much.. I guess I should have thought of the Roxio Forums. What a bad mistake on Roxio's part.. wow!

I got it fixed. The second suggestion in the thread you linked me too worked.

If anybody else has this issue.. simply quit toast. Then go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.roxioToast.plist.

Then just relaunch Toast. You will be guided through the installation process again but it will work this time!

Had this problem but no .plist file. Downloaded 11.0.4 to desktop as .dmg file, trashed Toast in Applications and AppTrap removed all associated files, expanded .dmg and ran, entering Toast 11 original pass key and works just fine.
