It's not often that we find ourselves thankful for out-of-date software, but there it is.
I never thought I'd say this but Apple's molasses style release schedule actually paid off.

What's also worth noting is the requirement for Java 7 (the vulnerable version): it requires a 64-bit browser. Thus, Chrome is safe (again, I'd never think to say that not having support for something was an upside) but Safari, Opera and Firefox are not.
