do i have to uninstall flashplayer every time there's an update? mine won't work even though i tried to install the new version when it told me to...

No, the installer will upgrade the current version.

Have you restarted the browser? New versions can only be loaded once the browser has been quit and re-opened.

Yes I've restarted the entire silly computer... i have mac os x lion 10.7.2 and there's so much i do not know about it...sheesh! i bought it in december.

it also locks up when i try to install the latest version (11).. i'm going to figure this out if it kills me. lol

Uninstall it completely using these instructions. Once that is complete, reinstall it. You'll also want to make sure you get Flash from Adobe directly (here in case you didn't).
