• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

MPEG Streamclip Issue Mpeg2 Playback Component

Recently my HD completely crashed and had it replaced by Apple(Literally when I had to restart my computer to enable Time Machine). Luckily I had my important files backed up on an external HD, but no applications. So now I have to reinstall every app that I had. And although it is nice to have a fresh start, certain things kind of suck, like the VisualHub application which is not available for download anymore.

Anyway...I downloaded MPEG Streamclip, but it is saying that I need an Apple Quicktime Mpeg-2 Playback Component, which I should have. I have DivX and Flip4Mac and nothing seems to be working when I import files from a disc. And that is where Streamclip directs me to for the Mpeg-2 component. Any ideas?

I am running 10.6.8

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks
