Mac OS X v. 10.6.5
I am having trouble duplicating a CD. I have a group of pictures on a CD and want to make a copy CD for a family member...I am using an iMac with OS X, v. 10.6.8.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Put the CD in and run Disk Utility, you can then create a DMG from the contents. With a good DMG file, you can then burn that to a new CD.

Just download the free "Burn" application and use the option to duplicate a disk. That's much easier than using Disk Utility which seems to confuse most new users of Mac OS X. Here is the LINK to download Burn.
