Hi everyone,

My friend and I want to trade laptops. We both have macbook pros about two years apart. I have all of my information backed up on an external hard drive, but he does not.

What's the best way to trade laptops so that our information can be swapped. We don't want to do a clean wipe because of the software on the computers - I also am not sure how to go about that.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Depending on how far apart these two computers are in age, depending on which OS version each is running...you may simply be able to pull the hard drive out of each computer...swap computers...then reinstall the hard drives.

But if there are issues...then the process is a bit more involved.
