So I have some FLAC Files I want to import into iTunes for my iPod. The problem being iTunes doesn't like FLAC files. I know there is an App called FLAC tunes that will work just fine but I DOn't feel like spending $4 on an app I will rarely use. Not trying to sound cheap or anything but like I will if I HAVE to. I heard Toast would work?

Basically, I jsut want a way to get FLAC Files in my iTunes or convert the FLAC to Apple Lossless files. Thanks in advance!

Side Note: Please don't say FLAC files are a waste if space either, quality is a HUGE thing to me.

Here ya go. Convert FLAC to ALAC with MAX

There's also an iTunes plugin called Xiph, which will allow FLAC files to be played in iTunes, but results will vary in terms of tagging and such. Also, I'm not sure about Lion or ML support for Fluke, which is the xiph plugin as an ogg container.

I would never run down FLAC as Apple Lossless size wise is also about the same size as Flac. Very similar actually and both Lossless.

To Doug, I was curious if that plugin worked in ML leave alone Lion. For the few FLAC files I have I have been playing them in Cog. Will check out Fluke.
