time machine failed backup to Time Capsule

Macbook Pro.sparsebundle has been "IN USE" when Time Machine tries to make a backup. I am using Mountain Lion and Airport Utility 6.1.

I've got the same problem with my iMac. Time Machine has worked great up until 5 days ago, now it's giving me the message that it's in use by another program, but I can't figure out which one.
